I was educated in Finance at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, and afterward attended law school at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. At The John Marshall Law School I was a lead editor on the Adelphia Law Journal. Before completing law school I worked as a law clerk at Holman & Stefanowicz, a small general practice firm in the heart of the Loop. I also worked as a collection specialist at Audi Financial in Libertyville, Illinois.
My first legal employment after passing the bar was at one of the biggest high volume bankruptcy law firms in Chicago. I began as a filing attorney responsible for filing anywhere between 30 and 50 bankruptcy petitions every month. After several months in that position, I was promoted to a court position and became responsible for handling a court call of 200 or more court matters every week. In that time, I witnessed the full breadth of issues that can come into a bankruptcy court proceeding from the surrender of property to the ongoing maintenance of Chapter 13 cases. Now, I head the bankruptcy department at Therman Law Offices, LTD.
The bankruptcy department at Therman Law Offices, LTD. strives to provide personalized service, attention to detail, and straight-forward advice. We also deliver experienced and professional legal services at a reasonable cost. In addition to our main Chicago office, which is conveniently located on the city's northwest side, we have suburban offices in Gurnee, Schaumburg, and Joliet, Illinois. Thus, we are well-suited to provide bankruptcy services to residents of the greater Chicago area.
When the new bankruptcy law took effect in October 2005, many attorneys abandoned their bankruptcy practices due to the new complexities of the bankruptcy code. I have dealt with these complexities my entire career and am fully versed in how to apply them to any bankruptcy case.
